Firefox 3

We recommend you download and use the Mozilla Firefox (free download, we do not receive income for recommending Mozilla Firefox) browser on your computer when surfing the internet, we have found it to be significantly less prone to picking up virus's and unwanted adware/spyware (if you are running Windows) which pose a significant security risk as well as consuming system resources on your computer causing it to run slower, not to mention the annoying popup ad's. Firefox also has great features like tabbed browsing, faster browsing, automatic updates, popup blocking, integrated search, live bookmarks, clear private data and much more.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have compiled some frequently asked questions that you might have whilst using our site. We will continue to add to this list as you ask the questions we haven't thought of. Please use our contact us page to ask any questions you might have that are not answered here.

Why are some chocolates & pralines level one courses longer than others?
We find that people attend this course for various purposes. Some people simply love consuming chocolate and would like to learn the basics to enable them to make chocolates at home or want to have a fun day at Savour making their own beautiful chocolates to take home. Other attendees may work in the culinary industry or are interested in starting a business. Therefore, we offer a range of level one courses that all cater to beginners and run for one, two, three or five days. Customise the class length to fit your calendar and requirements, but keep in mind that the more time spent under Savour’s expert tutelage, the more skills, recipes, techniques and abilities you will learn.

Can I get a certificate for the classes I attend at Savour?
Yes, we can provide a certificate of participation for each class you attend. Please inform us during the class if you require a certificate.

Do I need to have experience to attend classes at Savour?
For most of our courses we do not require any prior qualifications so we can cater for beginners right through to experienced professionals. The exceptions include chocolate showpieces and chocolate showpiece techniques for which we require attendees to first complete a chocolates & pralines level one course.

Do I need to attend the chocolates and pralines courses in order?
Yes. We require attendees to complete the levels in order (eg. Level one, two, three, four) as each level builds on the skills and techniques learned from the previous level.

Are the courses hands on or are they a demonstration?
All of our courses at Savour are hands-on and consist of between 8 - 14 students. This means that there is plenty of opportunity to get involved and make all the recipes in the class (with the help of our pastry chef) rather than merely watching a demonstration.

Will I get a copy of the recipes made in the class?
Yes each attendee will receive a recipe booklet at the beginning of the class.

Savour School's Retail ShopDo I need to bring anything with me to class?
Savour will supply an apron, utensils, refreshments and lunch for each attendee so all you need to bring is your enthusiasm and taste buds.

Is there parking close to Savour School?
Yes. Unfortunately we do not have a customer car park, but there is all day parking behind Savour School and also at the Jewell Train Station 50 metres from Savour School. See our handy map for information on getting to Savour School.

Will I be able to take home some of the goodies that I make during the course?
Yes. We professionally package a selection of all recipes that are made for our attendees to take home and enjoy.

How do I get to Savour by public transport?

It is easy to get to Savour using public transport.
  1. Tram Stop - Catch a tram from Melbourne City (Elizabeth Street) #19 North Coburg Tram. Get off at tram stop #20 (this is at Barkly Square Shopping Centre, 115 Sydney Road, Brunswick). This tram trip is ~17 minutes from the city.
  2. Jewell Train Station - Catch a train from Melbourne City Loop stations to Jewell Train Station (This station is at the end of Wilson Avenue. Literally 50 metres from the school). This is the Upfield Line and the train trip takes 15 minutes from the city.
