Panning

Panning is one of the oldest techniques in confectionery used for the likes of Maltesers, M&M's, Smarties, Jelly Beans and Crispearls. Savour's Panning class will teach you how to coat a crunchy centre with even layers of chocolate and finish it with a mirror shine. You'll be learning the technique and applying it to a multitude of products with such as coffee beans, puffed quinoa, pistachios, hazelnuts, caramels and almonds.

You will take home a selection of your creations to enjoy with your family and friends.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Savour’s panning classes will focus on successful chocolate coating on a range of products including coffee beans, puffed quinoa, almonds, pistachios, hazelnuts and caramels, all with exceptionally shiny chocolate finishes.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need a Panning Machine to replicate these products at home?

Yes. For commercial use, if you want to pan several kilograms of products you can buy a commercial panning machine. For home use or smaller quantities of product, it is possible to buy a panning attachment for home-use stand mixers.

Is this class suitable for beginners?

Yes.

 

CANCELLATIONS/CHANGES TO BOOKINGS

Savour Chocolate and Patisserie School operate a no refund policy. Any amendments or changes to a class booking require 10 days’ notice prior to the class start date. We cannot make any changes to class bookings with less than 10 days’ notice prior to the class start date. If you cancel a class booking more than 10 days prior to commencing your class, this will result in a Credit Note with a 6 month expiry. A $30.00 administration fee will be deducted from the final value of the credit note.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?
No. All equipment and ingredients will be provided.

WHAT TO WEAR
You must wear closed-toe shoes. Chef's jackets are optional.
